FAQ—MASSAGE
IN BYRON BAY
-
Social Remedy offers three styles: Remedial & Sports Massage for pain, stiffness, and training-related tension; Relaxation Massage for stress relief and switching off; and Pregnancy Massage for the specific discomforts of the second and third trimesters. All sessions are 60 or 90 minutes at $120 or $170.
-
Remedial massage uses deeper pressure, trigger-point techniques, and targeted stretching to address specific pain or dysfunction — think desk-bound backs, old injuries, or training niggles. Relaxation massage uses slower, flowing strokes to ease general tension, improve circulation, and quiet the mind. If you're not sure which is right for you, our therapists can guide you when you arrive.
-
All massage styles are priced the same: 60 minutes for $120, or 90 minutes for $170. Social Remedy members receive 10% off every session. Combination packages — massage paired with infrared sauna or a full recovery session — start from $139.
-
Sessions run for either 60 or 90 minutes. Most people find 60 minutes plenty for a focused treatment or a wind-down. The 90-minute option gives your therapist more time to work through multiple areas properly, and is worth considering if you carry tension in more than one place.
-
Yes. All massage therapists at Social Remedy are registered practitioners. Every session is tailored to your body — your therapist will check in on pressure, problem areas, and any health considerations before beginning.
-
Head to reception and you'll be shown through to the treatment room. Your therapist will have a brief chat about what you're looking to get out of the session, any areas of pain or tension, and your preferred pressure. From there, you're in good hands — just lie back and let them do the work.
-
Yes — two combination packages are available. Massage + Infrared Sauna starts from $139 (versus $169 separately): you warm up in the private sauna, then go straight onto the table. Massage + 1hr Recovery starts from $139 and adds steam, sauna, and ice bath access for a complete reset. Both are bookable online or by texting us.
-
No — massages are open to everyone, no membership required. Simply book online or walk in and speak to reception. If you're a Social Remedy member, your 10% discount applies automatically. Note that massages are not included in membership plans but are available at the discounted rate.
-
Yes, with one condition: a parent or legal guardian must be present in the treatment room for the full duration of the session. We'd suggest they bring something to read while the treatment takes place.
-
Yes — we offer dedicated pregnancy massage for women in their second and third trimesters (from 12 weeks). We do not offer pregnancy massage in the first trimester. Sessions are gentle, specifically tailored, and designed to relieve lower back pain, swelling, and muscle tension while keeping both mother and baby safe throughout.
