INFRARED SAUNA BYRON BAY
INFRARED SAUNA
HEAT, MADE GENTLER
Radiant heat that warms you from the inside, not the room around you. Quiet, private, and easy to come back to.
WHAT MAKES
IT INFRARED
A traditional sauna heats the air around you, then the hot air heats you. An infrared sauna skips a step — it uses radiant heat to warm your body directly, so the cabin itself stays far cooler. Around 45–60°C, against the 80–100°C of a traditional sauna.
The result is a heat that feels gentler and easier to sit with. The air doesn't catch in your throat, the warmth builds slowly, and most people find they can stay in comfortably for longer. It's the same idea as standing in winter sun — the air is cool, but you feel warm right through.
Infrared vs Traditional
| Infrared Sauna ~45–60°C | Traditional Sauna ~80–100°C | |

FAQ—INFRARED SAUNA BYRON BAY
-
Traditional saunas use hot air to warm the body, while infrared saunas use infrared light to penetrate the skin and heat the body from within.
Infrared uses radiant heat to warm your body directly, so the cabin stays cooler — around 45–60°C, versus 80–100°C in a traditional sauna. It feels gentler and drier, and most people can sit comfortably for longer. For the full hot-and-cold contrast ritual, see our recovery floor.
-
People mostly use it to relax and wind down — a quiet, warm forty-five minutes to switch off. It's commonly used to relax muscles after training, and many find it a more tolerable heat than a traditional sauna. We keep our claims honest: it's a recovery and relaxation tool, not a cure.
-
Forty-five minutes, in your own private cabin. That's long enough to properly warm through and settle, without it ever feeling like an endurance test. You're welcome to step out and rehydrate at the water station whenever you like.
-
There's no rule — it's about what fits your week. Some come weekly to wind down, others a few times a week around training. Listen to your body, stay hydrated, and build a rhythm that feels good rather than chasing a number.
-
Just bring yourself — we provide towels. Most people wear swimwear and we ask that you shower beforehand or arrive clean, not sweaty after a workout. Arrive hydrated, and we've got water jugs and cups upstairs for you throughout your session.
-
Yes — the cabin takes up to three people, and it's one of the nicest ways to do it. Book for two or three and you share both the experience and the cost. Pricing is per cabin, so the more of you, the better the value.
-
No. Anyone can book a single session — no membership, no lock-in. If you come regularly, buying a pack of 5 or 10 is better value.
Social Remedy members always get 10% off.
-
Absolutely. You're as welcome as any local. Book a single session online, walk in, and enjoy it — no membership pressure, no catch. It's one of the easiest things to fit between the beach and dinner.
-
Yes — two favourites. Fire & Ice pairs your sauna with three minutes of cryotherapy ($99), and you can add a 60- or 90-minute massage straight after ($139 / $189). Both are instantly bookable on this page. Use our booking form above.
-
Infrared sauna is gentle and well tolerated by most people. As a precaution, it isn't recommended during pregnancy, or if you have a heart condition, low blood pressure, or are unwell. Avoid alcohol beforehand, and if you take medication or have any health concern, check with your doctor first.
